Uganda Tourism Board promotes religious “pilgrimage” tourism.


Murchison Falls National Park covering an area of 3,840-sq km with altitude of 619m at the delta and 1,292 at Rabongo Hill. The mean temperature is 29 ° and 21°C-low C-high. It has recorded 76 mammal species and 450 bird species and is known to be the biggest national park in Uganda.

Day 1
Early morning pick up after breakfast from your overnight accommodation in Kampala. Driving through Bombo and Masindi a 4-5 hours drive to Murchison falls National Park stopping over for lunch either in Masindi or a picnic lunch in Kaniyo – Pabidi forest. Thereafter proceed to kichumbanyobo gate accessing Murchison falls National Park late afternoon. Drive to the “Top of the falls” for a marvel at the splendid sight of the raging Nile and witness it force its way through a rocky fissure just about six meters wide, point where the Nile River discharges through a narrow chasm and gush down 150 meters to become a placid river. Have Dinner and over night at Red Chillis Camp with basic accommodation, sambiya river lodge with mid range accommodation and luxury accommodation package being at paraa safari lodge / Nile safari camp.

Day 2: Game drive and Launch cruise

An early morning  game drive on the northern bank where you will spot lion, waterbuck, Roth child’s giraffe, elephant, cape buffalo, bushbuck, hartebeest, if you are lucky the leopard and other animals. Mid morning return to the lodge for breakfast, relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon go for a boat cruise safari and you will spot schools of hippos, herds of buffaloes. crocodiles, might see elephant, waterbuck, Uganda Kob and different bird species like goliath heron, pelican bee-eater, skimmers, Egyptian goose, kingfisher, fish eagle,  cormorant, the rare shoebill stork and hornbill.,.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
Morning at leisure, drive back to Kampala and lunch on the way.

8 days Uganda Safari | Uganda Tours

Day 1: Kampala – Lake Mburo National ParkUganda, Queen Elizabeth, Rhino 1

After an early breakfast, set off from your residence in Kampala for Western Uganda En route, Stopover at a local community popular for making local drums and crafts and proceed for the equator line – the pathway of the sun and take photographs.

Early afternoon, arrive in Lake Mburo for lunch in the park grounds as you marvel at the game and birds within the park.

Take a game drive in the afternoon and look out for zebras, topis, elephants, water hogs, waterbucks etc.

Early evening, take a boat ride on the lake, giving you chance to view different bird species. Don’t miss the rare shoebill stock!

Spend overnight at Lake Mburo or the neighboring Mbarara town.

Day 2: Lake Mburo – Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP)

After an early breakfast, leave Lake Mburo through Mbarara town to QENP for a game drive and have your packed lunch en route.

After lunch, you will go for a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. View variety of bird species and wildlife drinking water on the channel shores. The galloping hippos shouldn’t scare you! The boat cruise is excellent for photography.

Go for an evening game drive for those animals you never saw in the morning.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Early breakfast and depart from Queen Elizabeth national park

Through the Ishasha sector of QENP, you will view the interesting tree – climbing lions

Arrive Bwindi in the evening, have your dinner and spend the night at Buhoma in Guest house or Mantana /kitandara tented campsGorilla trekking in Uganda or Rwanda_940_529_80_s_c1

Day 4: Gorilla tracking

Early morning, pave your way into this impenetrable forest – home of the world’s most endangered wildlife – mountain gorillas. The landscape is hilly & steep and offers a variety of animals such as baboons, golden and colubus monkeys plus plenty of bird species

Return in the evening to dine and spend a night at Buhoma guest house or Manatana /Lake Kitandara tented camps. You could take an evening guided community walk.

Day 5: Bwindi – Kampala-

Have an early breakfast, drive to Kampala, and reach late in the evening.

Spend a night at your hotel or residence.

Day 6: Kampala to Kidepo.Buffaloes-in-Masai-Mara

This is a long drive, approximate 458km from kampala. Very early in the morning head to Kidepo through, Jinja, Mbale, Kitgum, then to Kidepo National Park bordering Uganda and South Sudan.

After breakfast we continue our journey and head to the north. It is a long but beautiful drive as we pass different types of landscapes and traditional villages. This area is really off-the-beaten track and not visited by many tourists yet. You will witness what the many years of civil unrest have done to this region, but also how it is slowly but steadily developing again. It is completely safe to travel and with a lunch stop en route you will arrive in the late evening in Kidepo. Dinner and overnight at Nga’moru Wilderness Camp.

Note: For a supplement you can opt to stay at Apoka Safari Lodge, a top end safari lodge surrounded by grassy plains and abundant wildlife. All ten privately situated cottages have an individual veranda and outdoor stone bathtub overlooking the valley. The main lodge offers a dining room, lounge with views on the nearby waterhole and a swimming pool.

Day 7: Kidepo National Park

A full day in one of the most beautiful and certainly most remote national parks in Uganda! Early in the morning you will explore the Narus River Valley by game drive or safari walk. Go in search of giraffes, ostriches, zebras, elephants and lions. The park is also a birders paradise as it boasts a bird list with over 475 species. Have lunch and relax before going on a visit to one of the local Karamojong communities. The Karamojong tribe is well known for their unique nomadic lifestyle and rich traditions of storytelling. Dinner and overnight at Nga’moru Wilderness Camp.

Day 8: Kidepo- Kampala

Have an early morning breakfast and then hit the road back to Kampala through another route, Kidepo- Gulu- Mubende- Kampala. Have lunch enroute.

Reach Kampala early in the night.

The day begins early as we start with a morning game drive and head for the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. We search for the lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch. In the afternoon we take you on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant bird life that is sighted and the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. In the evening you can enjoy a cultural performance by the Bakojo tribe including traditional dances and songs. Overnight at Simba Safari Camp.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kampala

Have a relaxed breakfast and prepare for a calm transfer back to the capital with lunch en route. Arrival in Kampala in the evening.

Lake Mburo National Park


Location: Mbarara District 3.5 hours drive from Kampala Size: 260 km2

About the Park

Its a very special place every part of it is alive with; variety, interest and colour contains an extensive area of wetland one of the only two such habitats to be included within a National Park in Uganda.
It harbours several species of mammals; Zebras, Impala, Buffaloes, and birds. comprising bill storks which are found nowhere else in the country. Its sculptured landscape with rolling grassy hills and idyllic lake shore has a varied mosaic of habitats forest galleries, seasonal and permanent swamps and rich acacia wood valleys which all support a wealth of wildlife. With our Uganda safaris and tours you are able to see more of these attractions.
The park is only 260 sq. km being the smallest of the Uganda’s savanna National Parks Its mosaic habitat, dry hillside, rocky outcrops, bushes thickets, open and wooded savanna forests, lakes and swamps are home to a surprising diversity of plants and animals.



The park has

about 313 different bird species including the rare Shoebill stork and White-winged Warbler. other species to lookout for are; Crested Francolin, Emerald-spotted Wood Dove, Brown Parrot, Barefaced Go-away bird, Rednecked Spur, common Quails, Black-billed Barbet, Greenwood Hoopoe, Blue-napped Mousebird, Lilac-breasted Roller,African-grey Hornbill, Nubian Woodpecker, Trilling Cisticola a drive towards Rwonyo camp may reveal;.Coqui Francolin, Rednecked spurfowl, Black Bellied Bustard, Temminck’s Courser, African-wattled Plover Rufous napped and Flappet larks, Rufuos chested Swallow ,Yellow-throated Long claw and Southern Red Bishop.



Forest walk – Rubanga Forest
This forest offer a variety of conducive habitat for birds therefore a very attractive place for bird watchers with over 40 bird species recorded.

The lake is rich with a diversity of animal and plant species which can only be viewed clearly if you take a boat trip The crocodiles, Hippopotamuses and birds li

ke Pelicans, Black Crake, Heron, Cormorant, Fish Eagle. The duration of each boat cruise is negotiable with the park management.
Nature trail
Offers the visitor a chance to admire nature they have opportunity to walk in the circuit at their pace in company of an armed guide.
About six species of fish are found on Lake Mburo the common one being Tilapia (Oreoclcroomisleacosti) but others include lung fish, mud fish, Haplochromes. u

sing hooks visitors can spend some time catching fish, a shade is provided at the campsite to ensure maximum relaxation for visitors while at the lake.

The park has accommodation facilities there are tents at Rwonyo park headquarters, there are also three public campsites. A more luxury accommodation is provided at the Mantana Luxury Tented Camp and an upmarket place to stay is Mihingo Lodge.


 Day 1

This safari begins or ends from Kampala or Entebbe. At 8am you are picked from your hotel or residence, drive to Lake Mburo National park though Masaka road with a stopover at Mpambire for a bathroom break and also to watch drums being made using old methods passed down through generation. We will too stopover at the equator for photographs and then proceed to the park via Nshara gate and lunch there. The afternoon is for a game drive along the lakeside track, which will enable you to see water plants and animals. The kigambira loop offers an opportunity of going through thye wooded wilderness with scattered thicket and there while here look out for Zebras, Elands, Topis, Bushbucks and Bush duikers. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented camp/ Mihingo Lodge/ Rwonyo Camp.

Day 2

After breakfast in the morning group sets off getting Zebra and Waruki tracks where harems of Burch ells Zebra (EquiisBurch Elli) are common along with other species like bush bucks, orbi and reedbucks. The zebra track connects with commonly olive trees and Euphorbia species. Lunch at Ruroko kopje picnic site, then continue to Rubanga forest which offers a variety of conducive habitant for 40 species of birds for example, Harrer hawk, green pegion, Narina’s trogon, grey backed cameropetra and doble toothed barbet. Tourists also view common trees like markhamia platy calyx, sapium, Euthrina and acaia spp, olea spp and boscia spp. Have dinner and overnight stay at either Mantana luxury tented camp/ rwonyo camp/ mihingo lodge

 Day 3

After breakfast at Lake Mburo dinning shelter, group goes to the lake for launch cruise to enjoy the fresh air from the lake while viewing schools of hippos, fish landing site and carry out lake side tracking. Drive back to Kampala through Mbarara highway via sanga gate lunch and bathroom break, arriving Kampala late evening.
